Julia Vizcayno Orero, Fallera Mayor Infantil de Valencia 2027, wore a “Lidón” espolín (hand-woven brocaded silk) by Vives y Marí, in the “Turia” ground colour, at her proclamation, held on 14 October in the Hemiciclo of Valencia City Hall. The Xirivella workshop congratulates her on the start of her reign and thanks her for choosing one of its fabrics for such a special occasion.

A fabric for the first great day of her reign

Before the authorities, the Junta Central Fallera and her Corte de Honor, Julia gave her first official speech wearing a “Lidón” espolín. The “Turia” ground, an aqua blue-green, brought light and freshness to her dress, in keeping with her role as the young representative of the festival.

Hand-woven in Xirivella

“Lidón” is one of the firm's espolín designs. It is woven by hand on 19th-century wooden looms, where the lanzaderas (shuttles) work 30 colours of trama (weft) and two metals to build the motif pass by pass. Each espolín requires between 500 and 900 hours of work and is certified by the Textile Technology Institute (AITEX).

Juan Vicente Aznar, manager of Vives y Marí, said that “seeing one of our espolines on such an important day for Julia is the best recognition of the workshop's work. We wish her an unforgettable reign.”

From Xirivella, Vives y Marí congratulates Julia, her family and the Rosari-Plaça Calabuig falla, and thanks her for choosing a “Lidón” espolín to begin her journey as the highest child representative of the Fallas.
