The collective exhibition «El Arte Contemporáneo se viste de Fallas» opened last night in Valencia with Vives y Marí as special collaborator. Curated by Eva Barrés under the motto «Diseño, Tradición y Vanguardia», the show brings together eight contemporary artists and will remain open until 15 March at Calle Micalet, 1.
Opening in the heart of Fallas
The opening ceremony, held on 4 March at 18:30 at Calle Micalet, 1, Valencia, brought together artists, traditional attire specialists and Fallas enthusiasts around a project that draws a dialogue between contemporary creation and Valencian textile heritage. The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 to 13:30 and from 18:00 to 20:00, until 15 March.
Sandra de la Viña: fashion, fabric and sustainability
Designer Sandra de la Viña presents a collection of pieces made entirely from fabrics, offcuts and textile waste from Vives y Marí. Her work transforms surplus materials from the Xirivella workshop into fashion pieces that champion the creative reuse of noble materials and the enduring relevance of Valencian silk as a source of contemporary inspiration.
Vives y Marí's participation reflects the firm's commitment to building bridges between traditional textile craft and the most current artistic expressions. Alongside Sandra de la Viña's work, the exhibition features pieces by Fede Sánchez, Mayte Mengual, Francisco García Gascón, Vicente Benlliure, Cózar, Margarita Vicente, Marisa Guio and Amparo Tarin.
