A new spolín by Vives y Marí in "The Color of Valencian Silks".

The Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda de Valencia inaugurated last month the temporary exhibition "The Color of Valencian Silks" in which color is the protagonist. Throughout the three months of the exhibition - from May to August - the pieces on display will be changing, so each month the exhibition will be renewed by presenting new pieces.

This month, Laura Moragón i de la Encarnación, Fallera Mayor de la Falla Ramon i Cajal de Torrent, gave her "Blue Gris" spur suit with drawing "Noelia".

This third temporary exhibition offered by the Silk Museum of Valencia follows the line of previous exhibitions: the search for a link between tradition and our current society. This time color is the protagonist. The exhibition aims to pay tribute to the art of the Silk Dyers in Valencia. In ancient times dyeing was a whole trade, tradition and knowledge transmitted through the dyers, which lasted until well into the nineteenth century and was giving way to the novelties of the chemical industry.

The Color of Valencian Silks is not a collection but a wide and careful selection of pieces of different kinds and origins.
