Vives y Marí has collaborated with IQOS to design an exclusive pattern, woven from scratch at its Xirivella workshops, which forms the basis of two traditional outfits —fallera and fallero— handcrafted by Espolín Amparo Gómez. The pieces can be seen at the IQOS Boutique in Valencia during Fallas 2026.
A singular commission: designing an original pattern
Creating a pattern from scratch for Fallas traditional attire is a practice reserved for truly exceptional occasions. In the sector's tradition, the norm is to draw from existing designs and adapt them; developing an entirely new pattern involves greater technical complexity and a deeper commitment to the piece. That was the challenge IQOS brought to Vives y Marí for Fallas 2026.
From the loom to the outfit: a fully handcrafted process
Working from the jointly developed design, the Vives y Marí workshops in Xirivella wove the fabric that would form the basis of both outfits. The garments were then made by Espolín Amparo Gómez, a firm specialising in traditional Valencian attire since 1982, which brought to life a fallera and a fallero while respecting the classical codes of the tradition.
Both pieces can be seen at the IQOS Boutique Valencia (Carrer de Colón, 52) from 6 to 17 March, as part of a photography exhibition presenting Fallas traditional attire from a contemporary urban perspective, open from 2 to 19 March.
